USGBC: Massachusetts Paces Nation in LEED

Massachusetts, New York and Illinois lead the U.S. in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification per capita. So reports Building Design + Construction.

The U.S. Green Building Council released the rankings in its annual review, which measures “certified square feet per resident” for 2017. Massachusetts kept its top spot with 4.48 square feet of LEED-certified area per resident. Nationwide, 484.6 million square feet of commercial and institutional real estate meets the LEED standard.
