Construction Worker Shortage Impacting Thriving Hotel Industry

The hotel industry’s growth is in danger of being stunted by a shortage of construction workers, according to a new report from intelligence platform Skift. So reports Fox Business.

yellow 1500138 1920Hotel companies are saying electricians, carpenters and other types of employees are in short supply even as occupancy and revenue is up. Price increases for materials are also a contributing factor to project delays. “Some companies have turned to technology like drones, robots and 3D printers to deal with worker shortages, according to the survey. Other firms are boosting pay and adding incentives, and nearly half have added or expanded in-house training programs,” according to the article.
