Virginia Raises the Bar on Safety with B.E.S.T. Program

The Building Excellence in Safety, Health and Training (B.E.S.T.) aims to persuade and identify contractor association members who use safety and health management systems to benefit construction workers. So reports The Hampton Roads Business Journal.

The program—the first of its kind in the U.S.—is a joint volunteer safety initiative created by the AGC of Virginia and Virginia’s Occupational Safety and Health program. Key aspects of the program include injury risk reduction, improving employee morale, hazard prevention and control, health and safety training, and three levels of achievement recognition for participating companies.
