Given as part of its Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program, the Diamond Award is the highest level recognition offered by this national construction industry association. Candidates for the award must meet stringent requirements, such as fulfilling an audited 20-point, comprehensive safety program and supervisory and safety personnel completing 10 and 30 hours training courses.
A Diamond Award honoree also must have an injury incidence rate of at least 50% below the national construction average for each of the past three years with zero fatalities and an EMR at or below 0.70.
