6 Students Win Construction Contest, Get Job Offers On-the-Spot

The Associated Schools of Construction sponsored a student competition in February that led to six on-the-spot job offers for the winning team from Central Washington University. So reports the school's website.

The contest attracted teams from dozens of schools from along the West coast and Rocky Mountain region. Equipped with only a binder and an external flash drive containing project specs, the students had 16 hours to address on-the-job challenges, establish material and labor costs, and set a work schedule for a multimillion-dollar construction project—a project that was actually built in California by one of the judges, Morley Builders.

After announcing the winners, Morely offered jobs to all six team members and donated $1500.00 to their university’s construction management program.
